5 Card Draw Poker

5 Card Draw Poker is one of the first poker games that many people learn. This is a great game to learn poker hands and how they rank against one another. There are many variations to 5 Card Draw. You can have single draw or draw several times. If you have ever watched an old western movie, there is usually a scene where people are sitting down at a poker table playing a game of 5 card draw.

How To Play 5 Card Draw (Single-Draw)

1) Players start the game by putting in an ante bet to the pot. This is a small bet to get the betting started.
2) The dealer then deals 5 cards face down using a standard 52-deck of cards to all players at the table.
3)Next, a round of betting occurs where players can try to get other players to lay down their hands by either bluffing or building a pot if they think they have the best hand at the table.
4) The players that remain in the hand now have an option to discard from 1 to all of the cards in their hand and replace them with new cards in the deck.
5) A final round of betting occurs, and ends with the players still left in the hand showing their cards. The player with the best 5 card poker hand is declared the winner and takes down the pot.
