Phil "The Poker Brat" Hellmuth

If you have ever watched Poker on TV, I am sure you have seen Phil Hellmuth Jr.  Phil (sometimes Phillip) Hellmuth is definitely one of the most recognized poker players of all time. Phil, though he may not look it, has been playing in major poker tournaments for over 15 years.

Phil Hellmuth first became a household name in the poker world back in 1989 when he became the youngest person to win the World Series of Poker. This turned out to be a start of many World Series of Poker bracelets that Phil has received during his career. As of 2007, Phil Hellmuth has won a total of 10 WSOP bracelets. On top of this, Phil has also won over 50 major tournaments.

Hellmuth is regarded very highly by his poker-playing peers. In 1996, they voted him as the “best all-around tournament poker player in the world”. Oakley and EA Sports have also called Phil a “poker icon”. Hellmuth has won over 50 Major Poker Tournaments including The World's Biggest Seven-card Stud Tournament in Austria and Late Night Poker in Great Britain.

Phil currently resides in Palo Alto, California with his wife (Kathy) and two kids (Phillip III and Nicholas). He is currently working on his autobiography called “Poker Brat”, which is a nickname that he has received at the poker tables. Phil plays all of his online poker at Ultimate Bet, where he can often been seen playing in the higher limits and some tournaments.
