File this under “rumor” with a bit of weird thrown in there. Apparently, because Lady Gaga is HUGE (and has been for a while), and wrote a song called “poker face” this makes her a celebrity worthy of showing up at a poker tournament.
Well, that’s what some organizers in Ireland are hoping will happen. The Irish Poker Festival, held next month, is hoping that Gaga will show up and try her luck at the tables…before hitting the tour circuit with Kanye West. It seems like a long shot to me..and really…doesn’t make a lot of sense. Sure, Poker Face the song was huge..that doesn’t mean that I’m interested in seeing her on the table vs. pros. There is nothing i hate more than “celebrity poker” (followed closely by Celebrity Jeopardy..but that’s a post for a differnet blog), and Lady Gaga…stick to making music and wearing no pants!

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!!
As someone that used to love watching the show, I noticed tonight that PKR Poker.com had Deal or No Deal for REAL MONEY online! You can wager from $0.50 to $100 and the max you can win is $1000 (so the odds aren’t the greatest) but man is it fun! As you can see from the image below, I opted for the $10 version of the game.

To start the game off, you pick one box (which is your box – just like on the show) then start selecting boxes (again just like the TV show). You want to try and eliminate the lower number boxes first (obv) then the offers from the banker will go up. The offers aren’t the greatest, but the risk is pretty low too so I guess you can’t expect huge payoffs from the game.
I played 6 games total and only lost on one of them:

Anyway, just thought I would mention that there are other fun games to degen away at online and as a big Deal or No Deal fan, I know this will probably be trouble for me.
If you want to check it out visit PKR.com and look under the GAMES section.

With purple aliens? Either this guy has some weird lighting setup, or this might be why Pokerstars is using a planetary VIP program…

Summer is here and over the next few months poker players from around the world will be heading down to Las Vegas to take a shot at some of the best live poker tournaments in the world, including the 2009 WSOP. When you aren’t spending your time at some of the coolest poker rooms in the world, you will definitely want to check out some of the other things that Vegas has to offer.
One of the biggest highlights to the Las Vegas hotels are their incredible swimming pools. Thousands of hot women attract to them daily, and what better way to spend your time away from the poker table oggling attractive women in bikinis.
Here is a great video put together by RawVegas.tv about the best pools in Las Vegas:

You’ve probably seen him playing on GSN’s High Stakes Poker, or losing tons of money online at Full Tilt Poker. Well, Guy Laliberte has done it again and has made it on Forbes’ billionaire list yet again at #261.
Laliberte’s net worth is reportedly $2.5 Billion, mostly which has come from his extremely popular Cirque Du Soleil brand!
Here are 2 great videos of Guy talking about the economic crisis, poker and business, and his philanthropic side where he plans to give a large chuck of his fortune to charity:

So, I came accross an interesting graph on a poker forum of possibly one of the worst online poker players. The player’s username is tomastomast and it seems that since he started playing poker on Full Tilt he has hardly ever won a game.
According to his chart he is down almost $120k since he started playing there. If you feel you may have a similar graph I suggest you either:
1) Quit playing poker all-together
2) Sign-up for a poker training site and get some serious help
3) Seak professional help for what appears to be a horrible gambling addiction
Merry Xmas and hopefully you aren’t like tomastomast!
