CEREUS Poker: Absolute Poker and UB Merge
WOW! Huge news, found this email from a UB/AP Affiliate Manager on a site I work with for my rakeback stuff. Obviously an attempt to cover up the scandal:
“Hello Everyone!
My name is Danielle and I am one of the Affiliate Managers for Chipleader, The Affiliate/Marketing program that represents two outstanding poker brands Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet. Chipleader has worked closely with Chris for quite some time now and we wanted to get the word out about our upcoming platform merge to Pokersolutions members first!
With that being said, We are pleased to announce the new launch of the CEREUS network, Absolute poker and Ultimate Bet’s new integrated software platform. CEREUS is the result of more than 18 months development and delivers a secure, responsive, and flexible online poker gaming experience.
The development team has worked hand in hand with infrastructure architects to create a scalable environment with negligible downtime: ensuring that client software can be updated with very little impact on the end users.
CEREUS combines and enhances the best features from both the Absolute Poker and the UltimateBet client software. Poker fans will enjoy more tournaments, increased peak-time player volume, and expeditious customer service response. Please keep in mind that the brands will still stay completely separate, they will just operate off the same system.
Here are just some of the advantages that you will get from this massive integration:
*Liquidity on both AP and UB will be instantly double
*BadBeat Jackpot will constantly hit $1M (largest in the world)
*Promotion offers, loyalty offerings and conversion rates will spike tremendously
We anticipate the launch to happen in the first week of August, please feel free to contact the Chipleader crew with any questions or comemnts; Danielle@chipleader.com, Marcela@chipleader.com, and Diego@chipleader.com. We look forward to working with you!
Cheers,
Danielle / Chipleader Team/ AP/UB management”
Also, here is a press release that is going out (thanks Corpfan!):
“Miami, FL (PRWeb) July 24, 2008 – Today, the management of both Absolute Poker and UltimateBet announced the upcoming launch of CEREUS: a NEW POKER PLATFORM that will integrate the customers and features from both poker rooms, instantly making CEREUS the third largest online poker network.
CEREUS is the result of more than 12 months innovation and development. Absolute Poker and UltimateBet will retain their unique assets yet share more players, more action, more tournaments, incredible new features and massive promotions.
Paul Leggett, Chief Operations Officer of both Absolute Poker and UltimateBet, said:
“I am so excited to announce the launch of our new poker network CEREUS. This is a huge landmark for our company and online poker. I’m confident that Absolute Poker and UltimateBet customers will be thrilled by the new platform and we look forward to welcoming many new players from around the world.
“CEREUS not only delivers the best online poker experience; it enables our company to improve our operations and deliver significantly better value and service to our customers.
“Our company’s goal is to provide poker players with the ultimate online experience. The launch of CEREUS is a major step for us in achieving our goal and we look forward to making many more exciting announcements very soon.”

I think Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet are going to be tainted for a long time. There is just too much suspicion surrounding the whole scandal.

Why online poker players want DealGuardian:
It has often been stated that the online poker world is like the Wild West. On line poker is a new territory where thousands of people transact business in the form of playing poker. And like the Wild West, innovations in technology provided solutions to problems which arose in an unrestricted environment. DealGuardian is a solution to one of the biggest problems in on line gaming, and one which the players should demand in order to make the games they play fair, unbiased and safe.
Today there are no regulatory bodies protecting the player from unscrupulous activities which can arise in an electronic gaming environment. Unlike live casinos where every aspect of games being played have checks and balances to insure all transactions are fair and not manipulated, the electronic gaming environment does not currently provide those same checks and balances. Players can not see the electronic shuffling of a deck or the electronic delivery of cards from that deck. Players can not see that the information about their down cards are being snooped by someone at the site. In a live setting, the players at the table are all witness to the legitimacy of the hands they play. In an electronic environment, only the on line poker room and their employees know this.
Sure, the on line poker rooms have auditors check their Random Card Generators and game play. However, it does not take much to manipulate the outcome of a hand to create a specific outcome and still report seemingly statistically unbiased history of hands. Over hundreds of thousands of hands, if slight irregularities are added to every type of outcome, the result still looks statistically unbiased. So how does a player ever really know that the cards were not manipulated slightly or the information about the hand was not being used by one of their competitors? They don’t. The player can never be sure if the on line poker room controls all the action and the information about active hands. That is where DealGuardian comes in.
DealGuardian provides an on line electronic gaming experience for the player that is similar to live casino play. Because DealGuardian does not benefit from the outcome of any hand, it remains as an independent 3rd party regulatory body for electronic games being played. DealGuardian also prevents on line poker room employees from exploiting active hand information. The DealGuardian service will securely store the hand information for the on line poker room and provide a mechanism to prevent anyone from gaining knowledge of this information while a hand is active. DealGuardian is the only service an on line gaming site can use to prove to it’s customers that the games being played are truly fair an unbiased.
So if you are an on line poker player and want to be sure the games you play are not being manipulated you need to demand your poker site to start using DealGuardian. DealGuardian is here to tame the Wild West for you and you the players are the only ones that can force the online poker rooms to use it. Unchecked the poker rooms are holding all the cards, with DealGuardian you can be assured that you are not being cheated and can focus more on playing the game you love.

I HAVE BEEN WITH ULTIMATEBET FOR MANY YEARS. WHEN I TRY TO LOG IN THERE IS A MESSAGE THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS USING MY ID.
I HAVE TRIED TO EMAIL ULTIMATEBET ABOUT THIS BUT THE EMAILS ARE NOT SENT BECAUSE THE SERVOR IS NOT RECOGNIZED.
I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT SECURITY SO I CHANGED MY CREDIT CARD. AT THE SAME TIME SOMEONE TRIED TO MESS WITH MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT.
I LIKE TO PLAY POKER. IF I CAN’T RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM I WILL DO SOMETHING ELSE.
