Chip Reese – Dies at 56
One of poker’s legends David “Chip” Reese died today in Las Vegas. Eric Drache, a close friend of the family, said Reese called his doctor at 10 p.m. on Monday complaining of pneumonia symptoms but never went to a hospital and died in his sleep last night.
With 3 WSOP Bracelets, Reese was one of the greatest poker players of all time. His greatest victory came in 2006 when he won the $50K Buy-in HORSE event at the World Series of Poker.
In 1991, Reese became the youngest player to ever be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame at 40 years old.
Reese is also known for his contributions to Doyle Brunson’s poker bible: Super System where he wrote a chapter all about 7-card stud.
His contributions to the poker community will be remembered for ever!
Thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.
