dorinvandy Wins WCOOP Event 5 – 10k High Roller
321 players put up $10,000 for their chance of winning one of the most prestegious events at the 2008 Pokerstars WCOOP. Event #5 boasted a $2 Million guarantee, but this was quickly surpased and almost doubled as the prizepool grew to $3,210,000. The field contained some of the toughest competition with almost every big online poker player, as well as many of the popular live pros.
One of the most talked about moments was when Annette_15 posted her disgust with Isabelle “nomercy” Mercier in the chat box after what looked to clearly be a slowroll. She wrote: “Annette_15: no need to be a bitc h and slowroll just because im a better player than u”
Hall of fame baseball player and now Pokerstars.com pro Orel Hershiser even made it out to play and even went as far as the final table playing under his username “O. Hershiser“.
The field slowly disappeared after over 13 hours of play to bring the game to four-handed between Greg “ducku” Hobson, Scott “dorinvandy” Dorin, Glen “choron” Chorny and Peter “#1Pen” Neff. Other than dorinvandy, who held a commanding chip lead with nearly 5 million in chips, all players had roughly 1 Million in chips.
In the end, the other players could not catch up to dorinvandy as he went on to win the tournament, $617,925.00, bragging rights and a WCOOP bracelet.
1 – Scott “dorinvandy” Dorin – $617,925.00
