Erik Lindgren Wins $340K Golf Prop Bet

Thanks to the excellent reporting from Wicked Chops Poker, we have learned that Erik Lindgren has won $340K from a golf prop bet with Gavin Smith, Chris Bell, Phil Ivey and a few others.

The bet had the following rules:
1) He had to play four rounds of golf at Bear’s Best in one day.
2) He had to walk all four rounds back-to-back-to-back-to-back.
3) He had to shoot from the pro tees.
4) He had to shoot under 100 on all rounds.

Apparently the bet came about after Lindgren and some other pros were out drinking.  Lindgren, who was upset about losing in the $50K H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2007 WSOP, mentioned that he was just going play golf all day the next day.  Shortly after the bet was formed.

According to Wicked Chops Poker, “after shooting a 48 on his final front nine and being at 69 after 13, the buy-outs began. Gavin Smith, who was originally in for $100k, bought out for $60k. Chris Bell and others bought out as well. Ivey remained on the hook for his full amount.”
