Full Tilt Releases: Matrix SNGs
If the movie by the same name confused you, prepare to be confused again with this crazy new format from Full Tilt Poker. Taking a twist on the popularity of multi-tabling, when a player buys into a $22 Matrix Sit and Go, four tables will open up. Each player then plays down to an eventual winner at each table. The prize pool is divided up among the four tables so ($22X9=$198-entry fee=$180/4=$36 prize pool per table) first place pays out $18, second gets $10.80, and third gets $7.20. If you’re not confused by the math you’ll notice that $36 dollars is still missing from the total.
That money goes to the “Matrix” prize pool and gets paid out when the games at all four tables are complete. Full Tilt then applies a scoring model where you get two points for each knock out, one point for each player you outlast, and a whopping two points for winning the table. The points at the end are tallied and players get paid based on the top three in points once the tournament is over.
Sound confusing? Yeah, same here. Me thinks it’s easier to just multi-table four $5.00 SNG tables but apparently Full Tilt thinks otherwise.
Anyway, if this does actually interest you, have fun losing money in the matrix over at FullTiltPoker.com!
