Isaac Baron (the guru 11) Wins FTOPS VIII Event #1

Isaac Baron, commonly known online as Menlo, WestmenloAA and more recently the guru 11 on Full Tilt Poker, took down the first event of Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS series of events. Isaac outlasted 4,157 players in the $200 + $16 NL Hold ‘em 6-Max Event.

This win propelled Baron into 2nd for CardPlayers’ Online Poker Player of the year a title that he won last year. Baron is off to a really good start this year. He finished 4th at the EPT in Monte Carlo for just under $1 Million (USD), and many big wins online.

Well, It is a big advantage to be able to start a new account, but its still pretty amazing that he’s able to win so consistantly. I’m pretty sure its cheating though. This guys FT screen name is mjorgensen13 or somethign to that extent. He must have changed it so others won’t know who he is and he’s able to cheat easier.

I agree players shouldn’t be able to change screen names, as it is usually against the rules of the site, but you can’t argue Menlo’s finish at the EPT in Monte Carlo. He is a very good player.

Yes. He’s good. A lot of poker though is about bankroll and confidence, so if you have a big bankroll from cheating online, you can go in to tournaments like the EPT Monte Carlo without having to worry about the money factor. Good player, bankrolled by online cheats, nonetheless, wins a lot of money, I’ll give him that.
