Mason Malmuth Reverses Stance on Deleting Posts at 2+2

Mason Malmuth Book BurningHosts a book burning party at 2+2 Publishing HQ

In a stunning move late last evening Mason Malmuth, the beleaguered head of the publishing empire 2+2 burned his entire inventory of around 500K poker books. Bloggers and forums across the Internet have been buzzing over the leak of his memo to 2+2 forum moderators to delete and “hide” quality posts to increase book sales. At light speed this story has shocked the rank and file of the online poker community.

To quickly recover from the negative press and mounting pressure to reverse his decision, Mason quickly assembled his team of authors and with forklifts buzzing, dumped his entire inventory of books onto the street along side his warehouse. None other than Mr Creepy himself, David Sklansky, kicked off the ceremony with the honorary torching of the first book. The party attendees then danced and drank port wine all night before heading back inside the 2+2 compound to watch the Olympic Women’s Gymnastics event on TV.

Mason: Why can’t we just close down the Internets?

There was speculation that Malmuth had plans to actually burn the authors along with the books. Of course, this idea was quickly dismissed after being informed that without his authors, there was no cash cow to continue feeding the hungry beast that is 2+2. Other ideas from Mason including closing down the entire Internet to ensure his book sales wouldn’t falter. When he realized that was a pipe dream, he decided to reverse his stance and actually embrace the Internet as source of information and not the devil to his book selling empire.

When asked for further comment, Mason quickly rushed back inside to see who won the gold medal from synchronized swimming.
