Mercier, Trickett and Kara Scott Get British Poker Awards

One of the highlights of the Poker in the Park Festival, which was held recently, was the second annual British Poker Awards ceremony. Like the awards for US poker players, these prestigious awards are conferred on poker players and services that get the most votes.

Jake Cody has bagged two awards—the Player of the Year and the Best Tournament Player because he won the EPT and WPT championships before heading over to the WSOP to win his first bracelet in the $25k NLH Heads Up Championship.

Chris Moorman, who had won a British Poker Award last year, won yet another award this year because he was voted as the best online player. Moorman has also made five cashes and emerged as the WSOP finalist twice this year, feats that captured the attention of the live poker gaming community.

Many of the award winners were unable to receive their awards in person, but John Duthie and Kara Scott received their Outstanding Contribution to Poker and Poker Personality of the Year Awards, respectively.
