Online Poker Pro or Degenerate Gambler?
My friend and I were talking the other day about how most of the high stakes players on Full Tilt Poker seem almost like gambling degenerates sometimes. I mean, you will log in to the site 7 times a week and they will be there everytime at all hours of the day. I am often left wondering, when do these guys actually go out and enjoy the large amounts of money that they make from gambling? Sure, I love playing poker online just as much as the next person and often find myself playing most days of the week, but I still make lots of time to go out with friends and enjoy some of the luxuries that winning a poker game here and there can offer. I even consider this kind of degenrate like at times. But, I guess one of the best ways to answer this question is to define what a degenerate is. I tried to define it using Dictionary.com, but there was nothing that really covered gamling. Basically, I guess you could say that a degenerate gambler is anyone who can’t control their addiction to the game. Others might argue that a degenerate gambler is someone that risks more than what they can afford. So depending on how you look at it, I guess you could say a lot of these guys playing 7 days a week are degenerates.
