Online Poker Room Ratings

Poker Room Ratings

Rating online poker rooms can be a very tricky job with so many poker sites to choose from. Many people ask us all the time how we decide which sites make it to our Top 10 Poker Sites list, so I decided to dedicate this blog post to explaining how the rating system works.

How Rating Systems Work For Online Poker Sites

When picking sites to go on our Top 10 list the main things we look for are traffic levels, promotions, guaranteed tournaments, software, deposit bonuses and loyalty programs. Let me break down why each of these is an important factor when rating a poker site.

Traffic Levels: Nothing is worse than signing up for a poker site and not being able to find a game. Traffic levels are probably one of the most important rankings and the main reason that pokerstars will always be at the top of our lists as it is the highest traffic poker site.

Promotions: Poker sites are very competitive and often run tons of great promotions to get players to their site. Good promotions can include new depositor freerolls, WSOP freerolls, and much more.

Software: If you plan to stay on a poker site for a while, good software is key. I still don’t understand how some sites can’t add features like lobby stats, and resizeable windows which are little things that make the poker experience more enjoyable.

Deposit Bonuses: Bonuses are always a nice reward for making your first deposit, but not always the most imporant. A site can offer you a really big bonus, but if its impossible to clear, then what is the point.

Loyalty Programs: Customers should be rewarded for their continued loyalty to a site. This can be done through things like special tournaments for players that accumulate a certain number of points, a loyalty rewards store where you can buy stuff with your player points, or on some sites using rakeback, where you get a percentage of everything you contribute paid back to you.

Choosing a new online poker site to play on is a very difficult decision. Let us help you out by checking our current online poker room rankings.
