Phil Ivey Donks Off a Ferrari in One Hand
Less than 48 hours ago poker pro Phil Ivey decided to get jiggy with it and and try to put a move on fellow Full Tilt Poker Red Pro Peter Jepsen. During a high stakes No Limit hand, Phil made a decent raise from middle position and Peter called from the button. The flop was 7 6 T with two diamonds, Phil made a pot sized bet and was smooth called by Jepsen. The turn brought a Q of diamonds and Phil made a continuation bet which was quickly called. The river was a harmless 3 of spades and Phil went into the tank for a moment before firing off a pot sized bet of 110K. Peter then went into the tank as he was likely spooked by the diamond that came on the turn. He ultimately made the call and took down the hand with the flopped straight –
Boys and girls, this is big league poker. Consider that a decent Ferrari can be had for what Phil bet on the river. Even more interesting is the rise of Peter Jepsen, who won more in this one hand of poker than he cashed for in the Carribean Poker Classic in 2007 (165K)! Definitely a player to keep an eye on, Peter is here and he’s not playing for pocket change.

I think Ivey was trying to take the pot with nothing here. The fact that he bet so much on the river makes me believe he had nothing, just trying to scare the other guy out of the hand. These guys bet more than most people earn a year on a single poker hand.
