Poker Bot Strike Averted

Phill Hemuth BotAn unlikely savior appeared and managed to steer the late night negotiations between the owners and the Poker Bot Union back on track. We reported yesterday that the Poker Bots Union had threatened a strike if their new contract wasn’t approved; allegations of poor working conditions and long hours provoked the threat. Desperate to find a middle ground and keep their Bots on task, the Poker Bot owners sought help from an unlikely ally in Phil Hellmuth. Phil felt a strong need to find a new group of fans since he was booed not only at the Heads Up Championship on NBC earlier this year, but also at an appearance at the 2008 WSOP.

Can “The Poker Brat” convince the Bots that his way is the best way?

After a closed-door session with the Union, Phil emerged wearing his trademark sunglasses and cap with a big grin. As the press swarmed him, cameras flashing, and microphones in his face, Phil made the announcement:

“It’s my great pleasure to announce that the strike has been avoided. I feel that for years these Bots have simply been misunderstood, much like myself. You see, if you take a moment to provide a little love and care for these Bots, much like myself, you’d see that they really just want to be loved. These Bots, much like me, only want to be understood for the genius that we are. Again, much like me, these Bots are gentle giants that are programmed to play the best poker in the world. If it weren’t for idiots and donkeys, we – I mean the Bots, would always win.”

And with that, the strike threat is over and Poker Bots around the world continue to dominate their human counterparts, much like Phil Hellmuth (except for the idiots and donkeys). Phil stated later that’s very happy to have a found a new fan base with Poker Bots and plans on bringing an entourage of them for his next grand appearance at an upcoming WPT event.
