Greg Raymer has achieved the impossible by bagging four Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) 2012 championships. He won his fourth title on Nov 19, when he became the champion of HPT Belterra NL Hold’em Poker Main Event, played in Florence. He had to beat back 283 opponents to win this title, which is his fourth HPT title this year.
Raymer has won a cash prize of $106,030. Besides, Card Player has given him 456 Player of the Year (POY) Points for his achievements. The overall HPT winnings of Raymer, who plays under the moniker Fossilman, have touched the $371,967 mark, a fact that makes him the HPT player who has won the biggest amount in prizes. He also happens to be the only poker player who has won four HPT titles in the shortest possible time.
Raymer won his first title on July 30 when he was playing the HPT event in New Mexico and collected a prize of $71,875. He grabbed another title and a prize of $121,973 in the HPT Main Event in France. Late this October, he won another title in Prairie Meadow, grabbing a prize of $72,089. After winning his latest title, Raymer’s bankroll size has swelled to $7.3 million.
The runner-up of the event is Jacob Bazely, a noted professional poker player who resides in Cincinnati. Bazely has won a million dollars each playing live and online poker tournaments, respectively. Having emerged as the runner up, Bazely won $59,706 with 308 POY Points, as a result of which he now occupies the 51st position on the POY leader board.
The final table results are as follows. Bruce Ostrander and Iverson Snuffer finished third and fourth, respectively, and won prizes of $38,088 and $32,941, respectively. Jason Gwinn and Kenneth Hicks finished fifth and sixth and won $25,324 and $20,588, respectively.
