The New Drug…Razz!
I played a little 1/2 Razz on Tony G Poker today. Ever since I played that last dealers choice tourney, I have been wanting to play some more Razz. The game is like a drug and I can’t seem to get enough of it. If you haven’t tried it out and like playing holdem, I would definetly try it. As I think I mentioned in the last post, the object is to get the lowest hand possible. So basically any three cards under 8 is a great starting hand. These cards are dealt two face down, one up. For every card dropped, there is a round of betting. If you see your opponents getting a bunch of high cards, and you keep getting low ones, chances are you can get them out of the hand by betting. The great thing about this game is the power shift constantly changes. One minute you may have the best hand, then the next minute, your opponent. I believe 7 cards are dealt in total, and the player with the lowest cards wins. Best hand is A,2,3,4,5. I will try to put together a list of sites that you can play Razz on. Right now the only one I have played it on is Tony G Poker. If anyone knows, please post a comment, or send me an email. Also, I will try to find some more official rules and get them up on the site. The dealer’s choice tourneys/ring games are tons of fun because you have to be good at several games to do well. I never thought I would say this, but I am actually starting to like Omaha Hi/Lo also.
