US Online Poker To Become Legal This Week?

The online poker industry in the US has taken a beating after the shutdown of three of the biggest US poker sites, Full Tilt Poker, Poker Stars and Absolute Poker in the market. Ever since the incident took place, 95 percent of the US market share in terms of poker seems to have vanished and along with that an equivalent of $200 million was swept away in marketing and promotional activities.

Many poker fan bases and online forums pertaining to the active poker players have been fighting for the legalization of online poker in the United States of America. However, not much has been taking place regarding the legalization of online poker in the US. Hence, Joe Barton, a member of the Republican House of Representatives is working to pushing an online poker bill legalizing internet poker in the US. Joe Barton is positive that clarifications regarding online poker industry can be cleared as soon as possible, even during the course of this week.

To draft the bill supporting the legalization of online poker, Joe Barton has used the conversations and opinions of the players from his Facebook group. This Texas based Republican had made the opinion of the players very clearly in the bill.

Joe Barton is one of the senior most members in the House Energy and Commerce Committee and he enjoys playing online poker himself. According to him, there is definitely a clash of ideology between playing online poker being legitimate and processing money for online poker being illegitimate.

The bill drafted by Joe Barton might legalize online poker in 50 states of the United States of America, but, in the states where online poker is still in operation because online gambling is legal, will allow licensing through existing gaming commissions.

If the bill is actually passed and US online poker becomes legal, the poker players have to face the consequence of federal agency overlooking the entire poker network.
